McIntyre is an Australian actor most known for his work in several short films and guest starring roles in Australian TV series. He also appears in The Pacific but his biggest break comes when he was chosen as the replacement for Andy Whitfield in the titular role for the Starz television series Spartacus. This happens after late Whitfield undergo on medical treatment after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Sadly, Whitfield died in Sydney, Australia, on 11 September 2011, 18 months after his initial cancer diagnosis. Anyway, that leaves McIntyre on the throne.
Liam said "It's a really unique challenge. It's been a great privilege, a great honor, a great responsibility as you guys know. Um, how do you answer that question? It's hard because you wish it was never there you know? You wish you couldn't have that opportunity because I was a fan - it's the weirdest thing."
